About the Vancouver Lesbian Collective

8 women stand side by side smiling, laughing and shouting. Two women wear colourful, stuffed fabric vagina costumes. Each of the other women wear a large letter spelling out VAGINA in all caps. The backdrop is a rainbow flag.

We are a group of mostly Vancouver-based lesbians founded in 2015. We advocate for the rights of lesbians to define ourselves and our boundaries and to organize politically in pursuit of women’s liberation from patriarchy. We meet monthly and hold events throughout the year. We welcome new members and love to hear from our supporters. Get in touch via our Contact page or through Facebook or Instagram.

Learn More About Us

Natalie Wlock, a member of the collective, discusses how and why the collective was founded, why the collective matters, and our recent actions around lesbian erasure and lesbian visibility in a podcast hosted by Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter. Also featuring Liane Timmermann from Get the L Out UK and a poem by lesbian feminist poet Chrystos.

Lesbian social events and meetings

Members of our collective often host private potluck gatherings for local lesbians to come together, socialize, and celebrate lesbian community over delicious food and drinks!

Even during these difficult times when we are maintaining physical distance, we meet regularly (online) as a group, and members consider how to get together safely outdoors.
